Pharmacy Servıces Programme

Aim of this programme

The aim of this graduate school programme is to train allied medical staff with the necessary knowledge to begin working in a pharmacy to assist authorised and responsible pharmacist and to help patients with their medications and medical products.


People who finishes this programme will be given Associate's Degree and Pharmacy Technician title. In different countries Pharmacy Technician education includes to 2-3 years of training, in our country this education comprises 2 years Associate Degree training.

Professional Liability

Pharmacy technicians are responsible for the following:

To assist the pharmacist

  • in preparing, storing and dispensing the prescribed medications and, pharmaceutical and medicinal products,
  • in controling the prescriptions, patient drug information and treatments
  • in ordering, purchasing and billing the pharmaceutical and medicinal products
  • in the institutional affairs.

The maintenance of the pharmacy and the equipment is among the duties of a pharmacy technician.

Pharmacy technician training program offers the graduates the opportunities for employment in individual pharmacies, pharmacy units and private or public hospitals.

Required Proffesional Subject Qualifications of Pharmacy Technicians

  • Study, communication and customer service skills,
  • Introduction to Medical terminology and pharmacy practice,
  • Information about current health concepts and the duties of the personnel who's in charge of different tasks in the pharmacy,
  • Drug administration routes, dosage forms, abbreviations and symbols which used in the recipes,
  • Basic calculations used in pharmacy,
  • Prescriptions and medication orders,
  • The properties, effects and side effects of pharmaceuticals and medical products,
  • Classes, names and companies of pharmaceuticals which used in the treatment of diseases,
  • General informations about aseptic Technique, routes of administration of sterile preparations, parenteral nutrition solutions and intravenous mixture,
  • Principles of pharmacy,
  • Pharmacy ethics, rules and regulations,
  • Computer applications in pharmacy,
  • Pharmaceutical procurement and inventory check,
  • Processes and methods of drug storage,
  • Utilization of pharmacopoeia, drug guides and reference books,
  • Repayment terms and organizations,
  • Maintenance of above proffesional subjects by vocational trainings and internships.

Furthermore, pharmacy technicians should have following skills: improved communication skill to communicate with pharmacist, patient and patient's relative, improved computer skill, ability to improve him/her in the profession, ability to organize an event.
