General Information About the Program:

The purpose of this program; It is to train Emergency Aid Technicians who will provide treatment and care to be applied at the scene at the first time during illness or accident and transport the patient or injured to the hospital by equipped ambulance.

Those who complete the program are given the Associate Degree Diploma and the title of "Emergency Assistance Technician".

The education of ambulance and emergency care technician is two years at associate degree level. In addition to theoretical and practical courses, students practice in emergency services and 112 ambulances.

In order to be an ambulance technician, people should be people who are interested in science, especially biology and are successful in this field, who like to help sick and weak people, who are physically healthy and strong, who can make quick and correct decisions, who are careful, cool and have a strong sense of responsibility, and can communicate well with others. must .

Ambulance and emergency technicians, university and state hospitals, private health institutions; they work in emergency services and workplace emergency aid units.
Due to the fact that there are triage and emergency care branches in the field and in the emergency services of hospitals, vocational education is given in few universities, and the student quota is low, graduate students do not have much difficulty in finding a job. and (Paramedic and Ambulance Commission) continues his professional activities.

First and emergency aid technician job description

First and emergency technician, graduated from colleges providing associate degree education in the field of first and emergency aid; In line with the education he received, he is a healthcare professional who provides first aid and emergency care to the sick or injured in need of emergency assistance, performs rescue, basic and advanced life support applications, ensures their access to health centers, and is responsible for the use and availability of the equipment for this job.

Duties, Authorities and Responsibitiesi

Provided that it is limited to emergency medical aid and care in emergency health services, first and emergency technicians can intervene with the patient and perform the necessary work and actions in this regard by defining the certified training programs determined by the ministry.

First and emergency technicians work as health personnel in emergency aid and patient transport ambulances, as call responders in command and control centers, and as health personnel in hospital emergency services. These personnel act as ambulance drivers when necessary (after safe driving training).
